What is Dysport®?

Dysport® is a neuromodulator that works in much the same way as Botox®. Dysport® is a local muscle relaxant (or neuromuscular blocking agent) adapted from the botulinum toxin type-A and is used in both aesthetic and therapeutic indications.

Dysport® is indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines or 11s) associated with procerus and corrugator muscle activity in adult patients less than 65 years of age.

What Can I Expect During Recovery from Dysport®?

Dysport® is a quick and minimally invasive treatment, which requires no significant recovery process. You may notice some initial redness, bruising or sensitivity following your injections, but these effects usually fade within a day or two. You will be able to resume all normal activities immediately following your treatment.

When can I expect to see results?

You may begin to see visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. The median first onset of effect was less than a week. The maximum effect occurred at 30 days. The typical duration of effect was up to 3 months in clinical trials but may last significantly longer or shorter in individual patients.
