The microneedling procedure uses small needles to prick the skin. This allows the skin to create new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help those looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars.
Microneedling is most effective in treating minor scarring related to acne, wounds, uneven skin tone and aging. You’ll likely notice brighter, firmer skin, too. The ideal results are achieved after multiple sessions. Physician directed microneedling is far more effective and safer than at-home rollers.
You may be an ideal candidate for this procedure if you’re in good health and have certain skin concerns. Microneedling is minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime. You may experience redness and irritation for a few days after the procedure. This procedure is not used for people who are on certain acne medications. We do ask that patient’s stop all retinol products 48 hours prior to treatment. At a consultation, we will advise the best treatment plan and if microneedling is right for you!
